On Tuesday February 20th the young Oscar Nominated Actress, Quvenzhane’ Wallis, made a special visit to Cleveland to participate in the Saving Our Daughters & MYCOM sponsored 2nd Annual Cupcakes & Conversation at the Euclid Park Elementary School. The event was from 3:30pm-5:30pm spoke to over 50 girls at the school, which included teachers and parents.

Quvenzhane’ talked about reading, acting, success, overcoming failure and the importance of hard work. The girls even convinced her to sing an excerpt from “Annie,” the movie musical in which Quvenzhané played the starring role. They also received signed copies of her new book.
Quvenzhane, who is now 14, published three children books through Simon and Schuster: “Shai & Emmie Star in Break an Egg”, “A Night Out with Mama”- a picture book based on her time at the Oscars and, “Shai & Emmie Star in Dancy Pants!”

This celebrity book initiative is under the Saving Our Cinderellas on Broadway curriculum, which launched in 2014, with co-Founder and actress, Keke Palmer in Cinderella, on Broadway.
