From inspiring young ladies with When Love Kills; The Falicia Blakely Story, of the Covenant House and Saving Our Daughters partnership in Atlanta; TV One has once again placed positive community messages for girls with their latest upcoming original movie, Bobbi Kristina, premiering this Sunday, October 8th 7/6c.
On Saturday September 30th at the amazing annual Circle of Sisters event in New York City, TV One invited a few young ladies of the Covenant House of NY, to attend a special tea panel that involved Bobbi Kristina actress, Vivica A. Fox.
Later after the panel lead cast members of the film, Vivica A. Fox, Joy Rovaris and Demetria McKinney took time to discuss very important issues that have impacted the young ladies such as homelessness and staying strong with their community bonds such as the Covenant House NY and Saving Our Daughters collaborations.
“At Covenant House New York, we work everyday to support youth who are trying to navigate a world that has not always been kind to them. The opportunity for our girls to be in sacred space with Bobbi Kristina’s Vivica A, Fox, Demetria McKinney, and Joy Rovaris; where they could be nurtured and celebrated, with genuine kindness, was indeed invaluable. Vivica, Demetria and Joy – by answering our girl’s questions and giving them tools for overcoming life’s challenges – really brought a sense joy to the hearts of our young ladies and let them know that there are people out there that still care and want the best for them. I can still see the smiles on their faces.
We thank TV One and Curtis Benjamin and the Saving Our Daughters organization for giving us this awesome opportunity; and for their dedication to creating spaces that validate young women – spaces where they can be seen, heard, and grow”.
